Grace L. Faustino
Owner & CEO
Grace L. Faustino is a highly motivated IT professional with over 20 years of experience in software development, project management, and IT governance. Currently serving as the Manager of IT Services and Research IT Liaison for the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) at the University of New Mexico (UNM), she plays a critical role in aligning the university's research enterprise with institutional goals and federal compliance standards.
Strategic Leadership & Innovation
In her current role, Grace leads the strategic development of IT services that support UNM's diverse research community. She represents research IT needs on key university bodies, including the Research Technology Advisory Committee and the UNM IT CIO Advisory Board. Her leadership has been instrumental in modernizing research infrastructure, including the development of a shared-services model for research IT personnel and the co-development of UNM's first Research Data Management Policy, which is now formally part of the Faculty Handbook.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
Grace oversees essential cybersecurity initiatives for the research enterprise, implementing annual Cyber Hygiene Assessments based on the CMMC 2.0 framework and ensuring alignment with NIST 800-171 standards. She serves as the primary IT contact for procurement reviews, evaluating hardware and software to maintain rigorous security and compliance across supported units.
Professional Background
Throughout her tenure at UNM, Grace has held several senior technical and leadership positions, including IT Project Manager III and Technical Analyst III within the OVPR. Her technical expertise spans full software development life cycle methodologies (Agile/SDLC) and full-stack web administration. Earlier in her career, she served as a Senior Software Programmer for the Department of Defense, developing scalable N-tier applications.
Education & Service
A dedicated member of the UNM community, Grace served as the UNM Staff Council President for the 2023-24 term and is a co-founder of UNM Women in Technology. She is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Organization, Information, and Learning Sciences at UNM, where she also earned her Master's degree. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from New Mexico State University.
